Recreational Vehicle (RV) sewage waste, also known as grey or black water, is waste generated from the use of an RV’s septic tank, sink, basin, or shower. It is common to use chemicals for cleaning, sanitizing and deodorizing waste holding tanks after they are drained. Please note that some of the chemicals used in pipe and tank cleaning are noxious and harmful to the environment if not disposed of properly. Many RV disposal stations have banned the use of tank treatments containing formaldehyde due to the damage it causes to waste treatment systems.

Illegally disposing of this waste into storm water drains or on the ground can be very harmful to the environment and creates serious health hazards for residents and animals. Tanks should always be emptied into the proper waste water receptacles so the waste is managed and treated in a healthy environmentally safe manner.
