The virtual training courses consists of four formal instruction sessions. Master Composter Trainees will watch as instructor and volunteers build and maintain a compost pile. To become proficient with composting trainees are encouraged to build and maintain their own compost pile during the training.
Goals for the formal training are:
• Various home composting options
• Biology involved with the different composting systems
• Compost benefits and uses
• Other methods of reducing yard waste
• Gain hands-on experience with composting and vermicomposting
• Understand how to troubleshoot issues with compost/vermicompost
• Learn how to utilize finish compost/vermicompost in your garden
We offer a virtual, LIVE online cohort (dates TBD) and a virtual, RECORDED online cohort that is self-paced.

Overview: (These classes are held on-site) This class introduces composting, using broken down organic materials as a soil amendment. The composting class starts at 9:00 am and ends at 10:00 am. The vermicomposting class starts at 10:00 am and ends at 11:00 am. Covid-19 protocols apply.

Overview: An expanded view of the environment outside the scope of conservation with respect to the development, implementation and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations and policies.
Overview: This class explores the basics of zero waste and sustainability – what is zero waste, waste creation, and strategies for every room in your house.
