That's a wrap! We concluded our first ever Virtual Recycle Camp last week and it was a huge success! In addition to learning about recycling, the campers made their own compost, competed in a virtual scavenger hunt, and even met new friends.
The weeklong camp taught the children how to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle by using items in their recycle bins to create fun arts and crafts! These crafts included a paper bag puppet, egg carton turtle, and even a recycled windsock. One camper, while describing her excitement for an activity, exclaimed, “I was born to recycle!” With activities that fun, it’s no surprise that Recycle Camp was a hit!
At the end of the week, the participants put their recycling knowledge to the test by participating in a virtual scavenger hunt. They were tasked with finding a list of recyclable items around their house and then challenged to create something new out of those same items. After seeing all of recycled creations, we determined that the campers were all recycling superstars!
