Drywall (Gypsum Board)

Gypsum Board, commonly known as drywall, is a building product made of paper or felt bonded to a hardened gypsum plaster core.

Disposal Locations

Riverside County Landfills

Gypsum board/drywall is accepted at all Department landfills with some restrictions for Badlands and Lamb Canyon Landfills. These two landfills are located within the jurisdiction of the Regional Water Quality Control Board-Santa Ana Region (RWQCB-SAR). The RWQCB-SAR requires gypsum board/drywall to be landfilled in a lined area of the landfill facility. For this reason when arriving to these landfills, customers must inform the Gate Service Assistant whether or not their load contains gypsum board/drywall. If the facility is operating on an unlined portion of the site on that day, customers will be directed to a designated area within the lined area to unload.
