Ash Resulting from Commercial Process

Ash which is generated from a commercial process may or may not be hazardous depending on the content of the ash. Often, ash generated in a commercial application contains heavy metals above regulatory threshold levels and the ash is then considered a hazardous waste. Therefore, this waste stream requires a special waste approval from the Department prior to landfilling. Please contact the Department at (951) 486-3200 for further waste approval procedure and policy.
